What I See
If you enable photo access, the iOS app looks for very recent screenshots when you open the keyboard. The keyboard shows a visible context badge when that context is active, and you can dismiss it.
What Stays On Device
For guest and free-trial use, the screenshot image stays on your device. iOS Vision reads text from the image on-device, and only that OCR text is sent as context for the turn.
Signed-In Image Opt-In
If you are signed in with access, you may opt in for a session to send the image for richer visual understanding. That is not the default. The image is used for that inference call and is not stored as a photo, memory, or ledger artifact.
What I Do Not See
I do not browse your photo library. I do not keep old screenshots. I do not silently upload images for guest use. If permission is revoked in iOS Settings, the screenshot pipe stops.
How To Turn It Off
You can remove photo access in iOS Settings at any time. For the keyboard image path, you can also leave Quill without Full Access or turn off the per-session image opt-in.
